Lake Forest is not a municipality, but a Planned Unit Development within the city of Daphne, just south of Interstate 10. The subdivision, with a variety of homes in different styles, ages and prices, has approximately 3,400 dues-paying property owners. It has a 9-hole and 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, three swimming pools (an excellent way to meet neighbors), tennis courts, horseback-riding stables and a yacht club on the bay. Approximately 70 homes are for sale within Lake Forest at any given time. Monthly dues to maintain the facilities are approximately $38 per month and they are mandatory for all homeowners. Fees to use the facilties are extra. Residents may swim free at Swim & Racquet pool Tuesday through Friday, or pay a few dollars per person on weekends and holidays. In the past, a seasonal pool pass has been $135 per family.
